Since I received the notice that There was closing shop, I've been rather standoffish and unaffected. I don't spend much time in There so, what's the big deal? Besides.., there's always other virtual worlds to explore, new people to meet and then there's all that RL work to be done. So no big deal. Really.., no big deal.

Until tonight.

I'm in Cosmo Village hanging out with a bunch of old skool Therians. We're all actin' like noobs, running around, putting on weird looksets and just laughin' our azzes off. It was a blast!

An hour past and I decided to go visit some other friends who were riding the bumber cars at Chaz's amusement park. 10 minutes of that and I'm wandering off.., by myself (very typical).

Then it hits me. There is closing.

In just a small handful of hours, this world is going be gone forever. History. Never again will I see my avatar doing his fav 'hole emote or 'tu. I'll never watch his chest breath and his face automatically go from smiling to thinking to pensive to daydreaming. I'm not going to see him 'giddyup his friends avie butts or 'hug Sahaya anymore. It's over, dude. It's done.

No.., no tears came to the corners of my eyes but I did feel a strong sense of sadness, even sorrow. FUCK!! Fuck this.

I'm going to sit my avie down on his favorite hill on Ootay Island and look out over the ocean and listen to the waves roll against the beach and the seagulls sing as the Masters of There pull the very real physical plug that will exterminate an entire civilization.

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel sad.
