Here I sit typing on my iPad ~ sign of the times.

It's a Tuesday in early February and tonight there's an open mic in Dunedin at Got Wine & Cigars - the only decent open mic in the Tampa area. So.., do I go? I haven't performed for strangers in years and years and stage fright is following close behind warning me.

But shit, man.., it would be so much fun and it would be the most healthy thing for me! Why the hesitation?! Get out there and let it all hang out. HAVE FUN.

The truth is, my salvation is performing my music. This open mic is every Tuesday night so it's only a matter of time before I go and play.., just have to get over the hump, get a taste of it and then I can work towards being a regular.

That being said, when I lived back in Boston I became friends with Vinx and he told me (regarding music), "Never give it away". That's good advice, but sometimes you just have to get your feet wet.
