My much needed Telecaster |

In the past year I've realized that I need to add a Fender Telecaster to my guitar collection. Yes, I do love guitars but they are, after all, tools. The Telecaster has a very distinct sound and playability that I am craving. Since most of my music career is composing and recording music, I need all the tools I can get to attain inspiration and achieve the sounds I'm after.
This is a picture of the exact Telecaster I yearn for. The problem is, it will need to be made in the Fender Custom Shop because they don't offer this color any more. That's $2,000+ to have one made. Ugh.

Caught between the longing for love and the struggle for the legal tender. Caught between the longing to create and the struggle for the legal tender. Say a prayer for the pretender. Gimme the time and I can be a contender.
They say that artists need to throw caution to the wind and just go for it ~ Put your faith in your dream and give it all you got. They say if you follow your dream the money will follow. Yep ~ all of that is most likely true, but it ain't easy. Shit ~ it's a bitch.

Fake Old Guitars and Posers |

Lately I've been having a powerful craving to purchase a Fender Telecaster and have been scouring the web looking at different models, configurations, colors, options, etc. I've seen many-a-plenty Tele's and as my desire and knowledge have grown, with it I've begun to feel more and more disgusted with the relatively new trend of brand new, factory made "Relic" guitars.
These "Relic" guitars are manufactured to look as if they are very old, heavily played and worn & torn. Apparently they appeal to a certain end user who wants to pretend. Someone who wants to have their friends come over and see the guitar on a stand and say, "oh wow, cool old guitar, man". Maybe they want to stand on stage (prolly playing cover songs) and have the audience get the impression they've been playing that guitar forever and will think it's fucking cool, bro.

Got Wine and Cigars Open mic, Dunedin, FL |

Tonight I checked out what appears to be the best acoustic open-mic in the Pinellas county, Clearwater area. The place is called Got Wine and Cigars and has recently moved locations due to their landlord suddenly deciding he wanted to use their space. Ouch. Oh well, it worked out rather well and now the new location has a full liquor license and the location seems to be more accessible.
I arrived rather late (almost 10pm) and watched two groups of musicians go at it.

Days and years and time and moments and thoughts and dreams and desires and yearning equals NOW.
Here I come people.., here I come. The time has come and I need to push forward, grab a hold of the reins and wind up the six string and air out the pipes.
Everything in its own time and the performance time is upon me. Gonna break free of cobwebs and the zone-out room and walk back into the musical world brandishing a warm smile and temperament. Out and into where I belong.
